Pinky Kekana was born in Bela-Bela. Kekana has completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree (specializing in Education and teaching). She currently reading for a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Policy at the London School of Economics.
Kekana's experiences as a secondary school teacher fuelled her passion for education and South African’s young people. She is committed to improving opportunities for young South African’s, from all walks of life.

In her role as a Member of Parliament, Kekana has been a part of a number of committees most notably the Standing Committee on Finance, Defence and the Ad Hoc Committee on the Filling of Vacancies in the Commission for Gender Equality. In March 2018 she was subsequently appointed as the Deputy Minister of Communications.

Dr. Bennie is Chief Technical Officer for Etion Digitise where he is responsible for guiding railway systems engineering strategy and development within the company and has more than 37 years working experience in the railway systems and signaling arenas.
His recent railway project involvement includes leading the design and specification of the signaling, telecommunication and condition monitoring systems required for the upgrade of the TFR Manganese export line and the Majuba link line. Recently he conducted the assessment of the Western Australian railway strategy for train control and migration to onboard authorisation systems.
He also contributed to the provision of GSM-R communication systems in the South African metropolitan areas and the provision of systems engineering and integration services on the country wide passenger rail re-signaling program.
Experience with on-board electronic systems include a feasibility study of in-cab signaling and protection systems for sub-urban passenger railways, as well as the development of freight rail communication and control systems.
He led the development of integrated railway systems such as rolling stock and infrastructure condition monitoring for TFR. He is also experienced with development of electromagnetic compatibility standards and compliance assessment of most of the rolling stock employed in South Africa.
I specialize in leading key strategic teams, stakeholders and customers in digitally evolving businesses in the Energy and Information Communication & Telecommunication (ICT) industry. I commenced my career as a telecommunications engineer and diversified into leadership to be able to manage multi-disciplinary teams in the business with efficacy. My experience in ICT and energy sectors has further developed my skills as an exceptional communicator, politically astute at all organizational level, with a consultative business approach. I have recently completed my Doctorate studies (DBA) cum laude, through the development of a strong knowledge of global strategic imperatives in energy, ICT and private sectors globally. I have always excelled throughout my career in through conviction; driving new dimensional thinking to drive business concept to fruition (Blue Ocean Strategy).
I am a frequent keynote speaker at International symposium on the subject of ICT, Digital Trends, Internet of Things (IOT), Innovation, Augmented Reality, Customer Centricity, Business sustainability in a digital economy. I excel in using research, best practices and new thought leadership models to influence team success and business financial sustainability. I currently serve as a director on the Information Technology Association (ITA SA) board due to my experience in management consulting, business development, finance, operations, leadership, marketing, multiple brand management, product development, strategic sales, new business development, analysis & gearing R&D to meet
business and client needs. In partnership with government, the ITA interprets the World Information Technology (WITSA) imperatives translating them into local execution able strategies and implications for the ICT industry at large in SA. I have extensive client engagements knowledge in South Africa, SADC and Globally.
